sending Bro off

  • Jul. 23rd, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Last Thursday, our whole family went to the airport to send Bro off.. He has left for Iran for job overseas posting and its for a good 2 years. Really felt sad for him and my sis-in-law. The girls are sure going to miss him. Consolation thing is that his company is paying him a a special allowance for every few months so he's gonna use that to buy air tix home. So at least the family get to re-unite every few months.

At the departure hall, just before he enter the departure gate, everyone in my family went emotional and all our eyes were red & teary. I was actually able to hold up my tears until he wished me a smooth delivery and was touched when I saw Bro kissed his two daughters. My sis-in-law of cos lost control and cried. Saw tears welled up in Bro's eyes too. To prevent further emo roller coaster of everybody, Bro entered the departure gate quickly and only turned back once to wave goodbye to us.

I wish him all the best there and I pray to God to bless him... Take good care of yourself there!! Looking forward to see you in October!! Audrey & Ashley will be 1 year old!!!

~ xie xie Dar ~

  • Jul. 23rd, 2008 at 3:03 PM

have been coughing since last week & finally went to see a doctor yesterday. Thought i was feeling feverish but doctor said no fever. He said its common even i have on & off fever for my condition. So went straight home after that. went to zzz after my medication.. ard 6pm plus, suddenly felt nauseous & uncomfortable. well, it leads to vomitting twice! ARGH! Dar commented that it might due to one of the medicine that was given for muscle relaxant. Blur me was not even aware that this will cause drowsiness until Dar said so. hahaha!
He was so funny trying to "force" me to eat preserved plum - stating that it will curb the nauseous feeling. But after the 1st vomit session, i dun feel like having anything in my mouth. It was only after the 2nd round, then i felt so much better. Since i was quite weak, he went to get dinner for me instead of going for his usual run.
Anyway, i appreciate Dar's little gestures here & there recently. He would stroke my back when i had those bad cough in the middle of the nights, "warning" me over stuffs to avoid & reminding me to take medicine & blar blar.
All these little gestures make me feel loved & warmth! Love ya...

Yesterday We brought baby Kyler to shave his hair off...yup, he's a botak baby now! He was such a brave boy, did not cry tru-out the process. We think he looks really cute with his new do...hehe...

We took our botak baby to the park for a walk in the evening....great way to spend sunday evening...

As this is the last weekend that we will be spending in godma's house, godbro brought some cheese/smoked salmon and wine for a mini 'farewell' celebration..

We will be moving to our very own home this coming Saturday...as much as We wish to move into our own home very much..I know that deep down we will miss staying with godma and family.I never knew that living with a big family can be so easy and stress-free. There were times when I hope that the house will be quieter and more peaceful but overall I enjoyed my one year stay with the Koh family...Time really flies so fast....

We will also miss Godma's fabulous cooking....hmmmm....

With our botak baby~~ain't he the cutest thing...?? keke....

juz a small deed... ...

  • Jul. 17th, 2008 at 11:58 AM

Was in the train this morning reading my newspaper & plugging in to YES933 when someone tapped on my shoulder.. it’s a lady asking me for help. Oh well, this kind of thing can’t possibly ask the guy next to her to do it =P
Anyway, its to help her to zip up her blouse which was only ¾ done. Of course, I gladly helped her & she was very polite about it. Doesn’t look or sound like local. I thought that was it..
Nevertheless, when I was about to alight, she tapped on me again to say THANK YOU with a great smile. Wow.. what a good day to start with! Just a small deed but make 2 people happy.

I alighted the train light-heartedly

cough episode...

  • Jul. 17th, 2008 at 10:42 AM

Due to the persistent cough, I have to turn down an invitation from LP for her full month bb’s party this sun. As much as I would like to go, I dun wanna spread the virus to her children. I guessed I caught it from my colleague who I usually hang out with. She caught it from her daughter & in turn her hubby got it too & so do I. Even my boss was downed with swollen throat for 2 days. YIKES!! Office is now full of virus. Revitalisers have been turned on & hopefully it will help one way or another.

According to my colleague, her GP said that this Mycoplasma virus thingy is spread through air-borne. An interpretation from Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mycoplasma

I am just hoping that I will recover soon….

Cord Blood Banking~

  • Jul. 16th, 2008 at 1:47 PM

Last evening, we met up with the Sales Rep from Cord Life to sign up for cord blood banking and collected from her the blood collection kit that we have to bring along when admitting to hospital.

It was a last minute decision... knew about it earlier but just didn't came across my mind to sign up. Lately, happen to read about it through the posts in the motherhood forum and thereafter, when I received the hospital admission letter and it includes a pamphlet of Cordlife in it. These somehow 'triggered' me to look at signing up for the cord blood banking...  Thus, last week, brought this up to Hubby and without hesitation and further questions, he asked me to sign up for it straightaway.

As EDD is only 1 month away and I did not want any further delay, I called up to make enquiry and etc.. thereafter, a sales rep called me and we immediately arranged for an appointment.

Cord blood banking is really beneficial and it serves as an assurance... and the cost is reasonable... we're all for it!! Indeed no regrets signing up for it...

Now, we've got one load off our minds... :)

to move or to stay?

  • Jul. 16th, 2008 at 11:53 AM
my company has been looking for an office space to move since the current location has a sharp increase of rent. have been searching for past 2 weeks but to no avail. of course, most of us prefer to stay put since its so much convenient & accessible. however with the increased expenses & no increase in revenue, it makes it very difficult to justify. moreover we are worried that it will affect our year end bonus =P. that's so human nature uh!
there's nothing much we can do now but to actively looking for a good place to move UNLESS there's a miracle - a tremendous increase of revenue & good profit margin
